UGC brief templates by industry

Pick your industry and what the videos are for. Get a UGC brief with the sections creators need, the shots and hooks that suit your product, and the claims to avoid.

This tool is in labs: it works, and we are still testing it. What it makes is yours to keep.

How it works

A brief is what a creator films from. Every good UGC brief answers the same questions: what the product is, who it is for, what every video must get across, what to film and what to avoid. What changes from one industry to the next is what the camera should show, and which claims are off limits.

This template fills those sections in for your industry: shot ideas and hooks that suit your kind of product, do's and don'ts, and the claims to watch in beauty, food, health, finance and ten other industries. Placeholders in square brackets mark what only you can fill in, and a short list at the end covers what to settle before you send it.

Which data it uses

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Fluencify; we only count that the tool was used.

The industry guidance is Fluencify's own view of what to show and what to avoid in each industry, written by people, not a language model. It is not legal advice on advertising rules: check the rules where your ads run.

Step by step

  1. Pick your industry, what the videos are for and the platform.
  2. Add your brand and product names, how many videos each creator makes and how long they should be.
  3. Press Build my brief, then fill in every placeholder in square brackets.
  4. Agree the fee, usage rights and deadline in the contract rather than the brief, then send it to creators or print it.

Example

A brief for a made-up skincare launch

What goes in

Industry
Beauty and skincare
What the videos are for
A launch
Platform
TikTok
Product
Glow Theory lip mask (a made-up product)

What comes out

  • Shot ideas: a texture close-up on the back of your hand, then on skin; applying it as part of your real routine, in natural light.
  • Don't: no filters, beauty modes or retouching on skin; no claims that it treats, cures or heals a skin condition.
  • Claims: skin results vary from person to person. Talk about your own experience, and only repeat product claims the brand has approved, word for word.
  • The ending: say that it is new, and when it launches: [launch date].

Questions

What should a UGC brief include?

The product and what makes it different, who it is for, the goal, the deliverables, the messages every video must carry, shot ideas and hooks, and what creators must not say or show. The fee, usage rights and deadline belong in the agreement you send with it.

Why does the industry matter?

Because what works on camera, and what you may claim, differ. A skincare video needs a texture close-up and no filters; a finance video needs blurred balances and wording the brand's compliance team has approved.

How is this different from the creator brief generator?

The generator writes a brief from your answers with a language model. This template is fixed and written by Fluencify for each industry, so it is the same every time and doubles as a checklist.

Can I use it for videos I will run as ads?

Yes. Pick Videos for paid ads and the brief asks creators for several hooks on the same video and a version without on-screen text, so you can test them against each other.

How do I get creators to film it?

Sign up free and post the brief as a Fluencify campaign. Creators join and film, and every video comes back to you for review.
