Shot list generator

Describe the product, the format and where you film. Get the shots in edit order, B-roll to grab while you are set up, and a checklist before you press record.

This tool is in labs: it works, and we are still testing it. What it makes is yours to keep.

How it works

A shot list is the plan for a shoot: every clip you need, in the order the edit uses them, with the framing and what happens in each. It is the difference between one quick shoot and a second one because the key close-up is missing.

This generator writes one for a short UGC video from your answers. Each shot names the part of the video it serves, from the hook to the call to action, and the list ends with B-roll ideas and a gear and prep checklist.

Which data it uses

Only what you type into the form. Your answers are sent to an open-weight language model run on Cloudflare Workers AI, with instructions Fluencify wrote for this tool. It uses no Fluencify campaign or pay data.

We do not keep what you type. So that a repeat request is quick, the result is cached for up to seven days under a fingerprint of your answers, and then it is gone. It never invents results, numbers or claims: where a fact is missing, it leaves a placeholder in square brackets for you to fill in.

It only uses the places, props and people you list, and only shows the product doing what you describe. If the brand needs something in shot, add it and the list includes it.

Step by step

  1. Describe the product or topic, and pick the format, the length and the platform.
  2. Add where you film and the props or people you have, if you want the shots to fit them.
  3. Add anything the brand needs to see, such as the logo or a feature in use.
  4. Press Plan my shots, then film down the list and tick off each shot as you go.

Example

An unboxing of a travel mug

What goes in

Product or topic
a leak-proof travel mug from Sipwise (a made-up brand)
Video format
Unboxing
Length
30 seconds
Where you film
my kitchen table by a window

What comes out

  • Hook, close-up: the box slides into frame and your hands pull the tape.
  • Demo, overhead: lift the mug out and turn it to show the lid, then click it shut.
  • Proof, wide: tip the closed mug over a tea towel and hold it there.
  • Call to action, medium: the mug goes into your bag as you say where to find it.
  • B-roll: steam from a fresh pour, the mug on your desk, the lid closing in slow motion.

Questions

How many shots does a short video need?

More than the edit uses. Short videos cut quickly, so plan an angle or two for each part of the video, and film a few seconds before and after every action to give the edit room.

What is B-roll?

Extra clips that are not the main action: close-ups, textures, the product in its setting. They cover cuts in the voiceover and make a video feel finished.

Do I need a camera or a studio?

No. A phone, light from a window and a quiet room are enough for most UGC. The checklist covers the basics, like a clean lens and a charged battery.

Can I use it for a brand's brief?

Yes. Add the brand's must-shows in the last field and the list includes them. The brief itself has the final say, so check it again before you film.
