Engagement rate calculator

Add up the likes, comments, shares and saves on your recent posts, and see your engagement rate by followers and by views.

This tool is in labs: it works, and we are still testing it. What it makes is yours to keep.

How it works

Engagement rate is the share of your audience that interacts with what you post. It sits next to follower count on every media kit, because it says whether people actually watch and respond.

There are two common ways to work it out. By followers: the average interactions per post, divided by your followers. By views: all interactions divided by all views, which suits short video, where many viewers do not follow you yet.

Which data it uses

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Fluencify; we only count that the tool was used.

It does not compare you with other creators or grade the result. It shows your rate, and exactly how it was calculated, so you can repeat it next month.

Step by step

  1. Pick the platform and enter your follower count.
  2. Count your most recent posts and add up their likes, comments, shares and saves. Add the views too if you have them.
  3. Press Calculate. Interactions are likes plus comments plus shares plus saves.
  4. By followers: interactions divided by posts, divided by followers, times 100. By views: interactions divided by views, times 100.

Questions

What is a good engagement rate?

It depends on the platform, the niche and the size of the account, and published benchmarks disagree with each other. The most useful comparison is with yourself: calculate it the same way every month and watch the trend.

Should I use followers or views?

Use followers to compare accounts, and views for short video, where many viewers do not follow you. Say which one you used when you share the number with a brand.

Which interactions count?

Likes, comments, shares and saves. Not every platform shows every one of them publicly, so the calculator uses whatever you enter and leaves the rest out.

How many posts should I count?

Enough that one lucky or unlucky post does not decide the answer. Your most recent posts give the fairest picture of how the account is doing now.

Where do I find these numbers?
